Our Story
The history of wooden car bucks is a fascinating immersion into the artistry and craftsmanship behind the most iconic automobiles ever created. A “buck” is a full-scale model used to define and guide the shape of a newly designed car.
Bucks were traditionally built from ash wood. They were used to transform and fit aluminum sheets into sleek, aerodynamic curves and played a central role in the development, prototyping and manufacturing of a newly created model.
More than just tools, they embodied the manual/design skills of their master creators and still remain a vivid inspiration for modern coachbuilders around the globe.
Today, the original bucks are regarded as true works of art. Preserved in museums and private collections only a few have survived.
Their timeless beauty, historical significance, and cultural relevance have inspired me to create the “Timber Wheels” collection: a limited and registered series of iconic car models that combine traditional craftsmanship and modern technology in a humble tribute to the to the master coachbuilders and their “belle machine”.
